Members of rock band Buckcherry and their touring personnel were unharmed after the group’s tour bus became involved in a deadly crash on Interstate 26 in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, early Friday, August 21.
The incident was reported around 2 a.m. along the eastbound lanes of I-26 near mile marker 31 as the band traveled between scheduled tour stops. While the bus was caught up in the chain of events, Buckcherry confirmed that every band member and member of its touring crew remained safe.
One person died as a result of the series of collisions. Authorities said the victim had been involved in an earlier single-vehicle accident and had left their vehicle before being struck by another vehicle while in the roadway. The person was pronounced dead at the scene, while their identity had not been released in initial reports.
Following the crash, Buckcherry shared an update with fans and confirmed that the fatal collision occurred in front of the band’s tour bus. The group expressed relief that no one from its traveling party was injured while also extending condolences to the family and loved ones of the person who died.

Buckcherry has been a notable name in the hard-rock genre since forming in the 1990s. The band is particularly recognized for songs such as “Crazy Bitch” and has continued touring with vocalist Josh Todd, guitarists Stevie Dacanay and Billy Rowe, bassist Kelly LeMieux and drummer Francis Ruiz.
